LIZ GRAHAM

Senior Sponsorship Manager, Westpac

Liz has spent the last 15 years working across the Telco, financial, sport and media industries specialising in commercial, brand, marketing, sponsorship across the country. She's been with the Westpac Group for close to 6 years.  Starting out in Queensland Liz was instrumental securing, managing and developing the state based sponsorship properties in market across the group. Liz now heads up the St.George portfolio of sponsorships including St.George Openair Cinema, St.George Queensland Reds, St.George Illawarra Dragons, GWS Giants and Mercedes Benz Fashion Festivals

Prior to Westpac, Liz worked for 4 years as the Commercial Director – Media Partnerships at Southern Cross Austereo on the Triple M and 2Day stations.

Her portfolios have also included NBL, V8 Supercars, Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Heat, Qld Cricket, Brisbane Roar, City2 Running Series, Surf Lifesaving, Surfing,  Fashion Weeks, national music concerts and music festivals, intimate music events, awards ceremonies, Racing Carnivals, Ekka, E Sport, charity and community events.

 

In 2014 she created  Bubs and Boardrooms, an Australian first co-working office with daycare facilities to assist flexible working for parents across Sydney.  She has Law, Marketing, and Business Management degrees and is on several Employee Action Groups across the country. She is also a director on the board of the WNBL Brisbane Sting bidding for inclusion in the 2019 season.

DILSHANI WEERASINGHE

Executive Director, Queensland Ballet

Dilshani is currently Executive Director at Queensland Ballet, a company in the inspired depths of vision renewal under Artistic Director, Li Cunxin.

An enthusiastic and tenacious enabler, Dilshani has worked alongside visionary leaders to facilitate strategic growth and renewal in the NFP sector since 1996. She has held positions as Development Manager at Malaghan Institute in New Zealand, Head of ROH2 Development at Royal Opera House in London, Head of Partnerships at Sydney Opera House, Sponsorship and Philanthropy Manager at Brisbane Powerhouse and Development Director at Queensland Ballet.

Passionate about driving innovation through strategy, Dilshani has also held Directorships in various sectors including child safety, multicultural arts, broadcasting and international performing arts.

ROHAN SAWYER

Chief Operating Officer, Queensland Rugby League

Rohan started his careers in investment banking working for some of the largest global banks including Goldman Sachs, UBS and J P Morgan. Rohan Sawyer has worked in senior executive roles within global and Australian sport including Rugby League World Cup 2017 and the Australian Turf Club where he was responsible for all commercial and marketing programs. Rohan specialises in commercial rights and sales, broadcast agreements, digital and esports. 

Rohan joins the QRL in a newly created role as Chief Operating Office in September. The newly-formed Operations team consists of State and Government operations, Statewide competitions, Elite Pathways and Representatives programs, Sponsorship and Marketing / Digital functions.

PAULA ROBINSON

Partner, MinterEllison and head of legal, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

In 2017 Paula Robinson was named Australian Sports and Entertainment Lawyer of the Year at the Lawyers Weekly Corporate Counsel Awards and her team was named Sports and Entertainment Legal Team of the Year.  Over the last few years alone, Paula has advised on at least 85 sponsorship agreements worth close to $100 million dollars. 

She is one of Australia’s most highly credentialed and regarded sponsorship advisors and has acted for both sponsors and rights holders alike.  Paula has also been a sponsor herself with her firm MinterEllison sponsoring both the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Sydney 2018 Invictus Games. 

Paula is known for her ability to ‘help get the deal done’ and her commercial approach to negotiations is what sets her apart from other lawyers in the field.

Jason has over 20 years experience working with some of Australia’s biggest companies and brands in a wide variety of Marketing & Communication roles.

Working with the likes of Virgin Australia, Kmart, Target, Volvo, Tourism Queensland and Stockland to drive market leading communications and strategies with a particular focus on High frequency, tactical retail environments.

Jason has also worked with various online gaming brands such as Poker.com in projects ranging from Brand Launch to Customer acquisition and retention.

RACHEL CROWLEY

Head of Corporate Relations - Brisbane Airport Corporation

In her position as Head of Corporate Relations with Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) Rachel Crowley is responsible for the company’s media, community and government relations and has management oversight of its corporate and consumer branding, marketing platforms including its web presence, magazine, and sponsorship and philanthropic programs.

Prior to joining BAC in late 2011 Rachel held a number of senior executive positions with Tourism Australia (TA), including the global role of General Manager, Corporate Communications based in Sydney, and Marketing Communications Manager, The Americas based in Los Angeles. Before joining TA Rachel’s career extended from journalism to government and consultancy.

Rachel is the Chair of the Board of the Institute of Modern Art, Deputy Chair of the Board of  Queensland Theatre, and President of QFI’s Queensland Corporate Affairs Council.

Damon is a communications and public affairs professional with nearly 20 years of experience across a range of sectors. Currently the Corporate Affairs Manager at Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation he has previously held senior roles in corporate affairs, public relations, media affairs, and communications management predominantly within the R&D and science sectors, with a focus on agriculture and primary industries.

Damon’s expertise lies in communications strategy development and issues management, having spent a large part of his career in managing issues and crises and developing and putting into action strategies to inform and build awareness.

Damon has extensive experience in providing advice and guidance to senior leaders and executives on issues management and communications strategy and is a keen observer of reputation and issues management practices globally.
